Pink Birthday Card Project

Pink Birthday Card - By Christine.
The dots and stripes papers work really well together, with a lovely glitter border ZL711U-50, this border gives a pretty but subtle colour contrast to the lighter pink in the papers.

Use an SF06U-43 Card. Cut two 144mm long x 35mm wide strips of each of the pink papers (SR193P dots and SR199P stripes). Stick one striped piece to the left of the card front along the fold line, and one dots piece to the right hand side. Glue the other two strips centrally between them and add the glitter strips, covering any little gaps between the papers. Cut a 64mm square of white card and mat it onto a piece of silver leaving a 2mm silver edge showing. Layer this onto the card towards the top left using sticky fixers ADH05.

Stick two flowers from a mixed pack FLS11 onto the square and add the wording sticker underneath. Stick a pink gem GEM51 at each end of the wording to finish.

Snowball Card Project

Snowball Card - By Christine.
All of the new papers have been printed now, so much choice!

Here is a design that is even quicker to make than the previous one. Cover the front panel of an AP55U-35 card in SR191P black dotty paper, and trim away the paper covering the aperture. Stick a piece of SR203P grey stripes onto the panel behind the aperture and glue the card closed.

Stick a CHA47 child motif onto the lower left corner and add three silver GEM70 gems onto the striped paper. The tag is from our very useful CDT008P die-cut white tag sheet with a piece of red Pepita ribbon RIB19-03 tied through, use sticky fixers to mount it onto the card and add a snowflake from ZL631U-52.

Dotty Polar Bear Card Project

Dotty Polar Bear Card - By Christine.
The brand new dotty and stripy papers come in lovely fresh colours. I couldn't wait to get started with them, so as soon as the first sheets (blue dotty) came up from the printroom, I grabbed a sheet and made this pretty Christmas card.

I used an SF03V-66 hemp white card and covered two thirds of it with SR189P blue dotty paper then added a ZL633U-82 glitter border.

The polar bear is from the mixed sheet of bears CIM504A, mat onto white card, then onto PZL00U-52 vinyl glitter sheet. Mounted onto the card using sticky fixers.

I cut a simple tag from white card, mat onto the vinyl glitter again and tied a piece of RIB02-07 through the hole. Mount using sticky fixers again and add the greeting and stars from ZL785U-42 (so good to have it without the gold border for this design).

This was quick to do and looks so pretty, perfect for making as a batch of Christmas cards for all your friends and family, and if you want to make simple changes so everyone doesn't get exactly the same card there are several different images on the sheet. You can also change the colour of the dotty paper to match some of the other new Christmas Creative Image sheets; they will look just as lovely made in the same way.

Card Challenge - Peel Off Sticker 10th Anniversary

Hi Everyone,

Way back in October 2000 we began manufacturing Peel-Off stickers at our factory here in Cheshunt, England, and since then all 'Craft Creations' and 'Gold Label' brand stickers have been designed and made by us in the UK.

To celebrate our 10th Anniversary of peel-off sticker production we are holding a card making challenge. Simply send a photo of a card you have made that uses 'Craft Creations' or 'Gold Label' stickers in the design, either as a feature or just an embellishment. (Please do not use other brands of sticker, if in doubt all our sticker sheets have either Craft Creations or Gold Label on them).

Entries must be in by the end of October 2010. At the beginning of November we will choose our 10 favourite cards, these 10 cards will then feature in an online poll so that you can vote for your favourite card, the top 3 most popular cards and the 7 runners up will win a fabulous prize as follows:

Issue 55 - Free Downloads.
The latest batch of 19 free projects, from Issue 55 (Autumn 2009) of our magazine, are now available for browsing or downloading. Visit the Free Projects page to view and download the projects.

There are many ideas for beautiful Christmas cards, some simple and quick to make, some labours of love.

The 'Countdown to Christmas' idea is truly gorgeous and would be fantastic to make for a younger child where they can turn the wheel each day. The 'Christmas Keepsake' is another great project, so much fun to complete as the holiday progresses.

With so many lovely ideas to choose from, it is hard to pick favourites but there is sure to be something for everyone amongst the collection.

Have fun!

Three Wise Men Christmas Card Project

Three Wise Men Christmas Card - By Sadie.
This simple idea for a quick Christmas card features our new, no-foil, glitter stickers.

This design uses an SF08C-110 snow white card mount, clear acetate sheet PET01 and ADH18 5mm sticky fixers. Peel off stickers: XL632U-01 borders, XL789U-03 wording, ZL633U-53 Borders and ZL791U-41 & 43 camel scene.

Start by sticking a black camel scene sticker onto the acetate sheet. Cut around this with scissors. Carefully fill in the bottom half of the background using pieces from the gold glitter sticker. Tip: Slip each infill piece onto the tip of your craft knife to get it into the right place before sticking. Add the large star above the stable and small gold stars randomly across the sky.

Mount the scene onto the centre of the card mount using the sticky fixers behind the filled in parts of the design only, so they don’t show.

Add two strips of black glitter border either side of the scene using the picture above as a guide then add the gold border above and below each black strip with no gap between. Stick the greeting and two gold stars between the borders to finish.

We hope you enjoy making this card; you can make the card using the black & gold in reverse to create a different look.

Ice Blue Christmas Tree Card Project

Ice Blue Christmas Tree Card - By Jenny.
I love the new ice blue Christmas papers and thought you might like to see an idea for a quick card using them.

This uses our standout tree card CC03U-52, creative papers SR182P, SR181P and SR180P, a bit of stardream silver  card STD01C, a pack of Bling Gems GEM59, snowflake peel offs XL442U-08 and XL493U-17.

Cover the back panel with the striped paper. Cover the tree and border with the snowflake paper. Use a snowman border and a wording border cut from the sheet on the top and bottom edge.

Place the tree on an eyelet mat and punch random holes through the tree using a large eyelet punch.

Cut a tree from white card a little larger than the tree on the card (draw around the tree onto the card and cut out outside the line). Use sticky fixers to stick this under the main tree so it gives a nice white edge. Add a silver gem through each hole.

Punch, or cut round a 5p coin, 6 baubles from silver and stick a white snowflake on each, sticking these to the ends of the branches on the white tree. Stick a large snowflake onto silver card and cut to shape for the top of the tree and make a silver pot, adding a snowflake to decorate it.

Stick the card closed, cut a narrow silver strip and make a frame inside the border.

We hope you enjoy making this card.
