The Summer issue is always a good time for fresh looking cards for all occasions and this one is packed with great, general purpose ideas to keep you busy on the dullest of days.
Love is in the air with a trio of pretty Wedding/Anniversary designs, one using beads and hearts, another lace and glitter and the third is a waterfall, gatefold card in a classic white and silver combination.
We have some large paper-cutting cum silhouette projects with a quartet of jazz musicians combined with gold instruments, made from peel offs in a multi-fold card style and then, fabulously dressy, a gem festooned pair of high heels perfect for partying the night away.
Flowers and butterflies are always popular subjects and we have a beautiful set of cards by Pam Goodwin, using foil and stitch-work to create gorgeous and artful cards. A delicate curve of paper butterflies over words makes a subtle and lovely card and a layered up arch uses paper punches, beads, gems and paper flowers to create a pretty scene or change it up for a dramatic night time silhouette. Using peel-off stickers of ladies, bamboo and blossom trees to create a symmetrical, oriental scene with soft, graduating colours, makes such a nice, ladies birthday card.
Very vintage, using a die cutting machine with oval frame dies and old family photos can make some absolutely fabulous cards, a simple change of colours will change the effect, endlessly.
Our latest set of Colourables, Baby Animals, combined with large numbers peel-offs are great for making cards for youngsters, though they are cute enough for most ages, too, and we have a fair selection of cards to get your ideas going. Also, suitable for younger cards is a fun Robot Shaker card, with a shiny, metallic card body, moveable jointed arms, internal cogs and beads, it is sure to be a hit.
Owls, everywhere! Debbie Brothwood has created a delightful set of owl cards, using pre-printed wooden shapes and dotty paper, she brings her own style to this simple subject, and they look great.
Getting you started for Christmas, we have launched a range of Foiled Toppers, Creative Papers, Creative Card, a couple of Découpage designs (with more to follow next time) and the cutest of cute Penguin Card Kits, we have had fun with these and there are a good selection of ideas for you to see, enjoy and use.
Have a great Summer, crafting.
